Nag's Head28 High Street
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
The Nags Head has recently (June 2019) changed management with a new tenant, Sandra. The kitchen has been refurbished.
This is the most westerly of the Harvey’s (Lewes, Sussex) tied houses and is the most distant from the brewery. Refurbished and reopened in August 2014, it has been decorated and fitted out to a high standard. There is a range of different seating areas each with their own feel, which creates a warm, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Outside there is a large rear garden and patio area. As well as two banks of hand-pumps, a ‘proper’ coffee grinder and coffee machine adorn the bar and make very nice coffee. Dogs are allowed in all but the ‘library’ area of the pub. Home-cooked food is served (not Mon - Wed), using ingredients from the garden wherever possible. Up to four three ales from the Harvey’s range are on offer, with Harvey's Best available constantly. Other beers are rotated, with one at around 3.5% and one around 5%. Newspapers at the weekend only.
