Dating from the 18th century and reputedly the oldest pub in Sandhurst, this family-friendly pub is always worth a visit, being about five minutes walk from Sandhurst railway station. Seven handpumps are situated on the single bar, one serving Otter Bitter on a permanent basis and six changing guest beers including at least one LocAle, which is reduced in price. One of the pumps also 'flexes' between a real cider and a real ale. Children and dogs are welcome. The sports TV's are on but the volume is muted enabling lively bar-side chatter by the locals. This pub is a past local CAMRA Branch Pub of the Year and has featured in CAMRA's Good Beer Guide in recent years. Pub reopened 16th August, limited service, no food while kitchen is refurbished, part of garden apparently sold for two houses.
