Dating back to the 18th century, this pub has been owned by Brakspear Brewery since 1857. Refurbished in November 2017 to include a pizza oven and brand-new beer garden. Original features including parquet flooring, natural oak beams, exposed brick walls and sash windows have been retained. Other features include a wood-fired pizza oven, an oak-topped bar fronted with reclaimed floorboards and copper pendant lights. A large screen TV shows regular live sporting events. The separate drinking area has plenty of seats. There is an extensive menu for lunch and dinner, including vegan, vegetarian and glutton free options and a wood-fired pizza oven providing sour dough or spelt bases made-to-order.  There is a specially designed children's menu and roast are available on Sunday. Everything is freshly made in the kitchen every day, instead of being bought in and reheated.
