Beer drinkers returning to pubs after the lockdown can finally get a taste of fresh cask beer after a long wait.

With cask beer sales hit, a new campaign says...

The campaign calls on beer drinkers to back British brewing and pubs, and opt for a pint of fresh cask beer from a local independent brewery when they return to their local pubs. #CaskIsBack

Our Branch Chair Kevin Lenton paid the following tribute to how the trade had responded locally during the lockdown periods:

"Now that some of the Lockdown restrictions have been lifted, the Branch would like to take the opportunity to thank breweries and pubs in our region that were Lockdown Heroes with imaginative approaches to trading in adversity. They delivered beer to our doorsteps free of charge and/or offered a collection service. Some provided food bags reaching out to vulnerable members of the community, others soup to key workers, both extending the community service that many pubs provide. "
